Introduction

A budget friendly and ecofriendly filtration system.

Depending on 3 stages of organic materials:

Sand

Charcoal

Gravel

where polluted water enters and goes through the 3 stages, which is of proven efficiency to provide an outlet of clean drinking water.

The filter template is made of PET material, waterproof and not biodegradable, which is a plus that it doesn't react with the organic compounds in polluted materials.

and the 3 filtering layers are removable/interchangeable where the consumer can remove the template and refill with the organic materials after the lifespan has approached its end, with very minimal cost.

The first part is with a screw shaped water inlet head

water goes through the 1st stage of sand, running through the compacted layers, and seeping through the micro drilled pores into the 2nd stage.

2nd stage which is also screw locked in between the 1st & 3rd interchangeable parts, containing active charcoal with pores at the bottom.

3rd stage, which contains gravel, cleaning the water and adding essential minerals to it, flowing through the pores into the water outlet head, providing fresh & clean water.

Flow rate is:

Surface area of the filter > 0.5 square meter

Velocity of water inlet > 0.37 liter/min

Flow rate=Surface area x Velocity = 0.5 x 0.37 = 0.185 liter/min

which achieves a flow of approx. 11 liter/hour

and the filter lifespan is very sustainable, going on for 5 years or more depending on water usage.

Matériaux

Outils

Étape 1 - Stage one

This is the 1st part of the water filter, with a screw locking water filter that attaches to the water funnel

Étape 2 - Stage 2

A interlock able stage of filtration that contains a sand filter that water passes through from the inlet to go across the sand layer into a porous filter

Étape 3 - Stage 3

Another part which water from the sand filter pours into the next level, charcoal filter

Étape 4 - Stage 4

Water comes over from the active charcoal part into the last filtration level, gravel, which filters the water efficiently and adds essential minerals before moving out to the last stage

Étape 5 - Stage 5

Final level, where clean drinking water flows into the water outlet after going through the 3 stage filtration system into a container.
